I am happy to report that the last three evenings I have witnessed geese migrating high overhead.  Not a lot of action, but some are starting to move through my little world here in Harford County Maryland.

I haven't really been seeing much lately with migrators.  The heavy migration probably will be starting in the next couple of weeks through Maryland.

I am seeing ponds with about two dozen geese that a few weeks ago would have been empty.  On my way to the CFC seminar with Cory Dukehart on Monday evening I past a pond that was holding about 100 to 150 geese.

Duck season opens Oct. 17th.

Eastern Shore is starting to load up.  Seeing more and more birds and have reports of LOTS and LOTS of birds near Kent county, MD.  I have not seen many high flyers but each day more seem to show up.

Went out last weekend to check an old River bed we hunt and it was holding close to 100 wooducks in it. We usually dont see that many grouped up around here for couple more weeks so the cold blast we got has moved some birds in the area if they just stick around until this weekend. I dont expect to see any major movement of mallards or other puddle ducks for at least another month to two months around here in South Central Indiana.

Thanks and good luck to you also. I will take some pics if we do any good. We have an early season which only lasts from this weekend until next. Then we have to wait until 25th of Nov. to hunt again. I wish they would just do away with the early season and put the week on the end of our regular season.

Wish We would get more migrators through Indiana. We get a few, but for the most part its all local birds and they know where and when to move. I have been after them here for the last two weeks and one day we see 150 and then when you hunt the next day they dont show. Its hard to kill them but when it gets really cold here in a couple of months they gotta eat and Ill be laying in there food bowl.

Hey Jay, Whats the shore looking like.  Are you getting more numbers?  Are the farmers able to get in the fields yet down there to get the beans and corn off?

More and more showing up.  Most fields are cut still have some beans and milo.  Some corn left especially north of Rt. 50 ip Rt. 301 they had more rain so not all fields are cut....
Most people seeing lots of geese but ducks are hit and miss.

Been seeing some good duck numbers up this way on the Gunpowder River.  Mallards mostly, a good bunch of woodies.  Deer Creek up through Street area of Harford County has a few woodies, mallards and I even saw a merganser which is unusual, at least to me, to see one of those on there.

Checked a farm that I have access to last evening.  Beans are still in it.  But the cornfield next door had about 300 birds in it.  The pond 2 properties over had probably another 300 in the air circling it.

Checked another 2 farms about 15 minutes away that I have access to and the pond two farms over  from one of them had about 75 to 100 loafing in and around it.

Can't wait.  I'll be taking two guys opening day that have never goose hunted before.  Should be fun.  All things are set...just got to hook up to the trailer and ready to go.
