Early Season Geese

Has anyone one been out hitting the early season geese yet? Most of my spots are in the fields and none of the crops are out around here yet (Central Indiana) on top of the fact that the geese are still feeding on grass. I do have one small farm pond I usually hit but thats about it.

I'll be getting my start on a 10 acre hay field this Saturday and Monday mornings coming up. Hope to be smoking them with some black cloud. My freezer is almost empty.

Major bummer.
I didn't make it out this past weekend. And Labor day morning was the perfect weather as the wind would of allowed us to set up in the standing corn. Long story, but one of my hunting buddies who has the contact wasn't able to go this weekend, which left me out of the field ... but I hope to get out at least once on this field before early bird season ends. If not, I'll have to wait till the middle of November.
