The advice I have for preparation is practice in sections.
What I mean by that is practice your routine by breaking it up in sections as to gain and maintain focus on taking care of every note.
Always marry the tail end of the previous section and the just beginning of the next section. This prevents you practicing starting and stopping or "practicing seams".
Once you get your sections mastered then 2 weeks before your competition practice the whole routine front to back. Do this three to four routines per session twice a day til comp day...
Do not practice until your lips get tired because you will run the risk of practicing mistakes.

That is your contest calling tip!
